✨🏈Washington Commanders Bring Playoff Spirit to Clearview Elementary🏈✨
Clearview Elementary was the place to be this week as the Washington Commanders stopped by for a pep rally to pump up students for the team’s upcoming playoff game against the Detroit Lions. The excitement in the gym was palpable as students, staff, and special guests came together to celebrate school spirit, football, and community pride.
The event wouldn’t have been possible without the dedicated leadership of our Principal, Stephanie Almquist, and Assistant Principals, Joshua Redford and Rachel Charlton. Their enthusiasm and commitment to fostering a vibrant school community helped set the tone for the rally. Together, they cheered with students, participated in the fun, and ensured the event was a memorable success.
We were also delighted to welcome Executive Principal Lindsay Trout, FCPS School Board Dranesville District Representative Robyn Lady, and Herndon Mayor Kevin LeBlanc, who all brought their energy and support. Special appearances by Washington Commanders legends Rocky McIntosh and Eddie Mason added even more excitement. Their inspiring words about teamwork, determination, and resilience captivated the students and left a lasting impression.
The Command Force dance team brought the house down with a dazzling performance, and the Commanders’ mascot, Major Tuddy, teamed up with Clearview’s own mascot, Stinger, to spread joy and rally school spirit. Watching Major Tuddy and Stinger interact with students and staff was a highlight of the event, reminding everyone of the power of camaraderie and fun.
Students had a blast showing off their moves in a spirited dance contest and flexing their football knowledge during the Commanders trivia contest. Clearview’s gym was filled with cheers, laughter, and high-energy moments as students and staff embraced the playoff spirit. Commanders swag was handed out, making the day even more special for everyone involved.
Clearview Elementary is incredibly thankful to the Washington Commanders for their visit and for bringing so much excitement and positivity to our school. With the strong leadership of Principal Almquist, Assistant Principals Redford and Charlton, and the support of our amazing community, the rally was a huge success. From all of us at Clearview, we wish the Commanders the best of luck against the Detroit Lions. Let’s bring home a victory for Old DC! Go Commanders! 🏈🎉
