Greening Clearview - Our Three Phase Plan

As part of our commitment to environmental sustainability, Clearview is embarking on a series of exciting planting projects. These initiatives aim to transform our campus into a greener, more vibrant space that benefits both our students and the local ecosystem.

Phase 1: Tree Planting

On October 1st, our sixth-graders will be planting six trees around the edges of our blacktop. This project is part of a county-wide effort to address "heat islands" and improve our school's overall environment.

Phase 2: Rain Garden and Meadow

On October 15th, our fourth-graders will be planting a native rain garden and meadow on the hill between preschool and the blacktop. This will help prevent erosion and protect our local waterways.

Phase 3: Native Meadow

The Fairfax County Stormwater Management department will be planting a native meadow in the back left part of the field. Meadows provide valuable habitat for wildlife and require less maintenance than traditional turf grass.

We are excited to embark on these important projects and encourage our entire school community to participate. By working together, we can create a more sustainable and beautiful campus for generations to come.
